what do i do because my bike rack dosnt fit?

i recently bought a rear backwheel bike rack for my bike that connects to the seat post but it is to big to fit,what can i shove in between there thatll get it to fit,its a TOPEAK MTX BEAM RACK A TYPE, also i cant return it because i used a coupon
