Comparison Between An Electric Bike And A Gas Scooter
Before the emergence of electric bikes, many people prefer to use gas scooter because they think that gas scooter can help them save some money and let them go fast. However, when electric bikes began to appear, people prefer to choose this new vehicle as they find electric bicycles can bring them many advantages that can not obtained from gas scooters. But we should also notice that gas scooter can offer us something that can not be obtained from electric bicycles. Therefore, in this article I would like to make a comparison between electric bikes and gas scooters.
First, let’s see the fuel difference. Gas scooters are powered by gasoline or diesel, so if you want to drive gas scooter, you need to fill the fuel tank with gasoline or diesel. However, electric bicycles are powered by rechargeable battery made of lithium ion, so you just need to plug the battery to get charged. From the above we can see that electric bicycles are more environmentally friendly than gas scooters because they do not give off harmful gas. Besides, it is cheaper to ride an electric bike because electricity is much cheaper than fuel.
Second, let’s see the performance of both vehicles. Gas scooters can reach up to 150 mph or faster while the electric bikes can reach from 40 to 70 mph. Therefore, gas scooters are faster than electric bicycles and if you prefer to pursue high speed.
Third, we should know that the regulations of a gas scooter are more than an electric bicycle. That is because some countries consider that electric bicycles can not go faster than 30 mph. Therefore electric bicycles are allowed to operate in the bike lane. However, as for gas scooters, there are many regulations because gas scooters are considered as motorcycles in most countries.
