Derailleur Cable
Rear derailleur issues?
My gears are shifting a little later than they usually are when I shift them. Do I tighten the rear derailleur cable to help my gears shift right away, or do I losen them?
The derailleur is a Shimano Tourney with fire shifters. And I checked out everything and it’s all clean. I don’t even know why it’s doing this in the first place.
Usually you turn the the barrel adjuster out to help shifting to a lower gear and in the help shifting to a higher gear. If it does it going both ways check the cable and clean it. If you have a road bike and the cables run under the bottom bracket turn the bike over and clean the cable guide with a solvent and tooth brush and then put a dab of grease over it to keep the dirt out.
